A Nearly Invisible Solar Roof in Carbondale, Colorado
ArcEdge is pleased to announce the completion of another Roofit.Solar installation in Carbondale, Colorado, in partnership with Denver-based Sopris Solar.
Located 6,181 feet above sea level and surrounded by Colorado’s mountain landscape, the property called for a solar solution that would complement the home’s architecture rather than compete with it.
The completed roof integrates Roofit.Solar photovoltaic panels directly into a standing-seam metal roofing system. Instead of mounting conventional solar modules above the roof, the active solar sections become part of the roof itself. Matching non-solar metal roofing completes the system, creating a consistent and refined appearance across the home.
Solar Without the Visual Clutter
Many homeowners appreciate the financial and environmental benefits of solar but are reluctant to install large, highly visible panels on an architecturally distinctive home.
Building-integrated photovoltaics offer a different approach.
The solar-generating panels are designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding standing-seam roof. From most viewing angles, it is difficult to distinguish the active solar sections from the rest of the roofing system.
The result is a roof that provides:
Clean, renewable electricity
Long-lasting metal roofing protection
A cohesive architectural appearance
No conventional rack-mounted solar array
Solar generation integrated into the building envelope
Our Second Colorado Installation with Sopris Solar
This project represents the second Roofit.Solar installation completed in Colorado by Sopris Solar.
Experienced installation partners are an important part of delivering a successful building-integrated solar project. These systems require coordination between roofing and electrical professionals so that the finished roof performs as both a weather-resistant exterior system and a renewable energy source.
Sopris Solar continues to demonstrate the technical experience and attention to detail needed to install this innovative roofing technology in Colorado’s demanding climate and terrain.
ArcEdge Projects Are Growing Nationwide
Although ArcEdge has been relatively quiet publicly over the past few months, our team has been busy supplying material and supporting projects throughout the United States.
Interest in architecturally integrated solar continues to grow among homeowners, architects, builders, roofers and developers seeking an alternative to conventional rooftop panels.
This Carbondale installation is another example of what is possible when solar technology is treated as part of the building’s design from the beginning.
At ArcEdge, we specialize in building-integrated solar products that generate power while preserving the architectural character of the property.
Solar power does not have to look like an addition to the building. It can be part of the building.
